A Nerd ToolBox Podcast

Welcome to A Nerd ToolBox Podcast! On this episode I spoke with my old friend, Evan Davies, as we catch up a bit and move on to talk about our mutual hobby, Dungeons and Dragons! We discuss the tabletop role playing game in depth and proceed to tell stories of our experiences and opinions on why we love the game so much.

  1. Hello Fellow Peer!
First off I love the dynamic you and your friend have you both have great speaking voices. You both sound very calm, comfortable, and at home even though your interview took place online with you both sound like your in the same room having fun catching up on each others lives. I really enjoyed the type writer/sawing style sounds in the intro of your podcast really goes with the name “ToolBox”. Another GREAT thing I noticed in your podcast is not allowing one person from speaking for too long you both go back and fourth very often and it kept me engaged listening to see what you were going to say next. Something I noticed that I think could help improve your podcast is the addition of maybe adventurous music or sound effects during your conversations talking about DnD scenarios to really make the listener feel and create mental images of what your are talking about. I can also tell that you both are VERY excited to talk about the subject and I feel the speed when one individual is talking can be a little fast the implementations of pauses when one person is speaking or between people can also help listeners with a little break. One thing I noticed at the end of the podcast was you explaining your title of the handy man thus the Toolbox podcast (which I think is hilarious and love) but I feel like it is a little misleading or hard to know what the podcast would be about based off only the title without reading the description. Lastly similar to how you have sounds at the beginning or your podcast don’t be afraid to add sounds/music during the podcast it helps create ambiance and can also help with transitions between speaker and openings /closings.

  2. I really like the title and you and your friend seem to be talking through fairly well, sounds like yall have a good connection.

For some reason the audio doesn’t seem to be balanced at all, certain sections sound super soft compared to the rest. Maybe have some sort of background music not really necessary.

It also sounds like you are very enthusiastic about D&D and I think that helps keep the listeners engaged even without knowing what is being talked about.

  3. This was amazing!!! I enjoyed the dynamic between you and your friend. I just had a slight problem hearing you. I had to turn my speakers up all the way and it still seemed like the audio was very low to hear. Your voices are clear but just the volume is very low.

I enjoyed the personal experiences and connecting the dots to bigger concepts and pictures when describing the gameplay!!! Very good!!
